With the electrical box welded into the frame, I bolted the components into place and started running wire. |
|
First step was feeding wires down the backbone. I had also drilled a hole straight down through the backbone into the vertical seatpost. And the seatpost and battery box had been pre-drilled to allow wires to pass through. So wires started making the trip down the seatpost and into the electrical box. |

Wires destined for the rear signals would pass back up the seatpost and out of the tail of the backbone. It's a lot of wire to squeeze in there but if you've got it figured out it's not too mind-bending. The trick is tying things off neatly after you've got the connections made. Another trick is finding coloured wire of all the colours you want. I could just never find the shades of blue etc that matched the original harness, so I had to start drawing black felt lines down same-coloured wires so I could identify them on the other end of the frame. |
