It all makes sense to me now. But to make it make
sense I had to draw it out myself into the separate
systems, because the
typical wiring diagram
doesn't help you see at a glance how the systems work together. So here's
my diagrams: Stock Wiring I'm going to remove two of the systems; one is the turn-signal auto-cancel that works with a switch inside the speedometer (the new speedo doesn't have it). The second is the "Reserve Lighting Device" which is designed so if your headlight low beam burns out, the high beam will come on automatically, or vice-versa. Modified Wiring I also figured out where the different units would be located and how many wires I'd have to run to the different areas of the bike. |
